MEET TIINA
Talo Studios is the creative vision of Tiina Vahtola, an award-winning designer with over 18 years of experience. Growing up in a Finnish-style home in Northern Ontario near Lake Superior, Tiina developed an early connection to design, culture and nature—elements that continue to inspire her work today. This background shapes her calm, grounded approach and fuels her passion for creating thoughtful designs that enhance daily life.

Before launching Talo in Montreal in 2020, Tiina spent 15 years in Vancouver, where she led a talented team on various commercial projects, earning multiple accolades, including the prestigious Designer of the Year award in 2018. Talo Studios is the culmination of her journey, blending rich experience with a passion for authentic, concept-driven design. Her dedication to the industry is further reflected in her previous role on the board of directors for the Interior Design Association of British Columbia.

Conceptual + Schematic Design
We listen to and discover your needs, assess your story, prepare mood boards, research, explore, and survey your space, then create space plans and sketches.
Design Development + 3D Visuals
We collect materials, finishes, and the fine details, all presented to you with design visuals tailored to your project and as many physical samples as possible.
Construction Drawings + Documentaion
Interior Design Drawing packages for building permits, tender and construction. We coordinate with your other consultants from Architects to Engineers and any specialty consultants
Furniture + Custom Millwork Design
We curate our furniture selection while also designing custom furniture, cabinetry, millwork, and fixtures tailored for any room in your home or workspace.
Art Direction + Styling
We carefully source and select art, accessories, foliage, textiles, and drapery to thoughtfully style your space, drawing from a variety of sources and unique pieces that enhance your overall aesthetic.
Commercial Test Fits + Site Surveys
We provide test fit services to create detailed space plans tailored to your requirements, ensuring the spaces you’re considering for expansion or relocation meet your needs and maximize functionality.
